수원의 밤을 화려하게…'수원화성 미디어아트' 내달까지 공연
경기 수원에서 열리는 축제중 가장 화려함을 자랑하는 행사가 있다. 정조대왕의 효심과 애민정신을 보여주는 화려한 빛이 수원화성을 물들이는 '2023 수원화성 미디어아트'의 공연이다. '만천명월(萬川明月) : 정조의 꿈, 빛이 되다'가 3년 차를 맞아 더욱 다채로운 프로그램과 구성으로 수원의 가을밤을 오색찬란하게 수놓고 있다.
14일 시에 따르면 올해는 정조의 행차 중 가장 화려했던 을묘년(1795년) 수원화성 행행을 주제로 다채로운 빛의 향연이 펼쳐진다. 달이 모든 개천을 비추듯 모든 백성을 사랑했던 정조대왕의 사상과 발자취를 11월4일까지 창룡문과 국궁장, 동장대, 동북공심돈 일원에서 만날 수 있다. (중략)
창룡문 오른쪽 성곽 산책로는 '미디어 로드'가 조성됐다. 초록색 조명으로 장식된 경사면 위쪽에 '노을빛 바람(까사델라멘따)'이, 아래쪽으로는 전통문양을 활용한 고보 조명 작품 '달빛이 스며드는 대지, 피어나는 정조 행행(김지현)'이 배치돼 성곽 산책의 즐거움을 더한다.

Suwon’s Nights Come Alive in Color as “Suwon Hwaseong Media Art” Runs Through Next Month
Among the many festivals held in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, one event stands out for its extraordinary visual spectacle: the 2023 Suwon Hwaseong Media Art Festival. Brilliant displays of light illuminate Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, conveying King Jeongjo’s filial devotion and deep concern for the welfare of his people.
Now in its third year, the festival is presented under the theme “Moonlight over Ten Thousand Streams: King Jeongjo’s Dream Becomes Light.” With a broader range of programs and installations, the event is filling Suwon’s autumn nights with a dazzling array of colors.
According to the Suwon Metropolitan Government on October 14, this year’s festival features a vibrant spectacle of light inspired by King Jeongjo’s royal procession to Suwon Hwaseong in 1795, the Eulmyo Year, which was regarded as the most magnificent procession of his reign.
The ideas and legacy of King Jeongjo—who loved and cared for all his people as the moon shines upon every stream—can be experienced through November 4 in the areas surrounding Changnyongmun Gate, the Korean Archery Field, Dongjangdae Command Post, and the Northeastern Watchtower. [Excerpt omitted]
A “Media Road” has been created along the fortress walking trail to the right of Changnyongmun Gate.
“Sunset-Colored Wind” by Casa della Menta is installed on the upper section of the slope, which is illuminated with green lighting. On the lower section, Kim Ji-hyun’s gobo-lighting installation, “Moonlight Seeping into the Earth, King Jeongjo’s Royal Procession in Bloom,” incorporates traditional Korean patterns and adds to the enjoyment of walking along the fortress walls.
