도심에서 만나는 미디어아트 세상, '서울로미디어캔버스' 올해 두 번째 전시

서울역 뒤편 만리동광장에 위치한 미디어아트 전시 플랫폼 ‘서울로미디어캔버스’가 6.21.(금)부터 평범한 일상을 소재로 따뜻하고 사랑이 담긴 이야기와 풍경을 미디어아트로 선보인다.

‘서울로미디어캔버스’는 시민이 공감할 수 있는 미디어아트와 영상 콘텐츠 등 전자 빛으로 이뤄진 예술작품을 선보이는 미디어아트 전시플랫폼(29m×7.7m)으로 매일 저녁 18~23시, 전시 일정에 따라 순차적으로 작품을 상영한다. (중략)

<일러스트×모션그래픽 공모전>은 친근한 일러스트를 소재로 누구나 쉽게 즐길 수 있는 미디어아트 작품을 전시한다.

이번에는 살아가며 함께 ‘동행’하는 모든 것에 대한 예술적 감성, 시선을 담아낸 일러스트로, 공모전을 통해 선정된 작품을 영상화해 전시한다. 김효정·김지현 작가가 그려낸 평범한 일상 속 따뜻한 풍경을 만나볼 수 있다.

최인규 서울시 디자인정책관은 “서울로미디어캔버스는 시민이 일상 속에서 예술을 마주할 수 있는 특별한 공간”이라며, “이번 미디어아트 작품을 통해 우리 주변 평범한 일상과 자연의 아름다움을 새롭게 생각해볼 기회를 제공할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

A World of Media Art in the Heart of the City: Seoul’s “Seoullo Media Canvas” Opens Its Second Exhibition of the Year

Seoullo Media Canvas, a media art exhibition platform located at Malli-dong Plaza behind Seoul Station, will present a series of warm and affectionate stories and scenes inspired by everyday life through media art beginning Friday, June 21.

Seoullo Media Canvas is a large-scale media art exhibition platform measuring 29 meters by 7.7 meters. It presents media art, video content, and other works created with electronic light that are designed to resonate with the public. The works are screened sequentially according to the exhibition schedule every evening from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The “Illustration × Motion Graphics Competition” presents accessible media art works based on familiar illustrations that can be easily enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

This exhibition features illustrations that express artistic perspectives and emotions concerning everything that accompanies us throughout life under the theme of “Companionship.” Selected works from the competition have been transformed into moving-image pieces for public exhibition.

Visitors can experience the warm scenes of ordinary life depicted by artists Kim Hyo-jung and Kim Ji-hyun.

Choi In-gyu, Director-General of Seoul’s Design Policy Bureau, said, “Seoullo Media Canvas is a distinctive space where citizens can encounter art in their everyday lives. Through this media art exhibition, we hope to provide an opportunity for people to reconsider the beauty of the ordinary moments and natural environments around them.”
